Counseling with Ms. McMillan
COUNSELING WITH MS. MCMILLAN
McMillan (MM): So, Celina...*long pause*...you seem to have troubles...with seating arrangements at the lunch tables.
Celina (CW): Um...what?
MM: You seem to...always position yourself at the front end of the table. Let me ask, why do you do that?
CW: Uh.....I like the sun.
MM: You like the sun, EH?
CW: yeah, I guess! *laughs nervously*
MM: Well, let me tell you something. I've also noticed that you don't take part in any sports. Could this possibly connect with the fact that YOU sit at the end of the lunch table?
CW: No...
MM: Ah, ahaha!! You seem like an outgoing person. Could this be on to hide your shy, quiet, self? Are you really a shy person, yet you don't want anyone to know, so you pretend to be friendly?
CW: That doesn't make any sense.
MM: Really. How so?
CW: There's no way a shy person would "pretend" to be outgoing. An outgoing person can pretend to be shy, if you know what I mean.
MM: Yes, that is correct! But I've seen it before! I once knew a girl who...
CW: *oh boy, here it comes*
MM: *rambles on about a girl who dyed her hair green and was super shy and wanted to not be ashamed of her green hair so she pretended to be outgoing*
CW: Oh.
MM: *finished the story with "she was never good in english, so you see what happens when you're not good in english??"
CW: Um....yes......(???)
MM: Well now. What seems to be the problem?
CW: Problem?
MM: Ah, the last year of middle school.
CW: Oh. *???*
MM: Well, I guess you better go eat lunch now. Come into my room at 3:00.
CW: Okay.
MM: 3:00!
CW: *starts walking faster* Okay...!
MM: Remember, 3:00!
CW: *says nothing*
